Mar is a researcher in the field of waste management with more than 12 years of experience. She works in projects aiming to improving waste handling for achieving an efficient use of the resources. Her main interest is on solid waste composition and the effect that the minimization of waste generation will have on it in the future; but she has also worked with thermal processes, mainly WtE, of different types of waste (MSW, CDW, CIW) and formation of organic.
She works for RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) and is task-leader assistant for the IEA Bioenergy Task 36 Material and Energy Valorisation of Waste in a Circular Economy. Her background is in chemical engineering and she got her Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry at Umeå University (Sweden) in 2016.
