Key expert for bioenergy within bioeconomy at the Dept for Renewable Energy Sources, Climate and Environmental Protection, Energy Institute HrvojePozar (EIHP), Croatia. She has over 20 years of experience in concerted policy (energy, agriculture, forestry, environment) and assessing socio-economic aspects of bioenergy. Biljana is leading TWG Bioenergy and New Value-added Materials, offering expert support to the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture in coordination of 11 Central and Eastern European countries, organized in a BIOEAST Initiative. She is involved in IEA Bioenergy since 2005, currently in Task 43: Biomass supply for bioenergy within the bioeconomy.
