Dr. Christoph Schmidl obtained his PhD from the Vienna University of Technology for this thesis on fine dust emissions from biomass combustion. He has been researching the energetic use of biomass for 15 years. His professional career led him from the Vienna University of Technology to the research center Bioenergy and Sustainable Technologies BEST (formerly Bioenergy2020 +), where he now works as key researcher.
In addition, since 2013 he is leading the Renewable Energy Systems and Technical Energy Management Master study program at the University of applied sciences Wr. Neustadt.
In 2016 he was announced as the Austrian national team leader in the Combustion Task of IEA Bioenergy.
