Elina Mäki is a senior scientist at department of Industrial Energy and Hydrogen at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd. She obtained M.Sc. (Tech.) in energy technology at LUT University in Lappeenranta, Finland in 2015. Her main research expertise covers evaluation of varying concepts for sustainable energy production, in particular related to bioenergy, biofuels and solar energy, combined with knowhow on energy policies. She works especially with techno-economic assessments of different flexible bioenergy concepts, such as hybrid systems and pyrolysis oil production. She participates in several national and international projects covering the role of bioenergy in the transition towards a low-carbon energy system. Elina is Task Leader of IEA Bioenergy Task 44 – Flexible Bioenergy and System Integration – since 2020.
