Dr Hannula is a Senior Analyst at the IEA where he is leading the Agency’s analytical work on renewable energy technologies, focussing on their potential to deliver electricity, heat and mobility services. From 2005 to 2020 he held various research positions at VTT in Finland. Ilkka holds a Doctoral degree from the Aalto University School of Engineering. He is an alumnus of the Energy Systems Analysis Group of Princeton University, and Energy Policy Research Group of the University of Cambridge where he currently holds the position of an Associate Researcher.
