Oshada Mendis is the Deputy Director for the Clean Fuels Portfolio at Natural Resources Canada and the Executive Committee member representing Canada on IEA Bioenergy. For more than a decade, he has worked in the energy industry, spanning both the private and public sectors. His experience includes working for a small advanced biofuel start up – Iogen Corporation; the world’s largest oil and energy company, at the time, – ExxonMobil; and now in the public sector where he advises on domestic cleantech investments in the areas of clean fuels (advanced bioenergy, hydrogen, synthetic fuels, RNG, etc..). Oshada is a Professional Engineer with a B.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa (2009) and an MBA from the Telfer School of Management (2014).
