Shahana McKenzie

Bioenergy Australia

Shahana McKenzie is CEO of Bioenergy Australia. Shahana has a strong track record of driving public, government and consumer campaigns for the non profit sector over the last 20 years. She joined Bioenergy Australia in August 2017 and is committed to driving growth in the Bioenergy sector and advocating for Bioenergy as a key renewable energy solution for the future.

Since joining Bioenergy Australia, Shahana has led the renewal of the organization and successfully delivered a merger with the Biofuels Association of Australia, resulting in a joining of forces to drive Industry growth for the sector. Under her leadership the organisation has increased membership by 400%, successfully advocated for the development of a Commonwealth Bioenergy Roadmap and has created a number of highly active alliances driving growth for the industry.  Prior to joining Bioenergy Australia, Shahana was the Chief Executive of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) and led the organisation to become a vocal, active and engaged member of the built environment community. Prior to this, she has a history of working across associations and organisations in the non-profit and sporting sectors.
